Avoid the “No restart in XXX miles” warning

Most modern diesels use AdBlue in an SCR system to cut NOx emissions. If the AdBlue level gets too low you’ll see warnings — and many cars won’t restart when the countdown hits 0. UK Motor Centre Ltd provides quick AdBlue top-ups in Ilford using sealed ISO 22241 fluid, resets the warning and checks the SCR system for stored faults.

Book in if you notice

AdBlue & SCR FAQs

What is AdBlue and what does it do?
AdBlue (DEF) is a 32.5% high-purity urea solution in de-ionised water (ISO 22241). It is injected into the exhaust to reduce NOx in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems.
Can I drive with the AdBlue light on?
You may, but most cars start a countdown and won’t restart once it reaches 0 miles. Top up soon to avoid a no-start condition.
How much AdBlue will I need?
Typical passenger cars take 5–20 litres depending on tank size and warning level. We fill to spec and reset the warning.
Do you reset the warning and check for faults?
Yes. We reset level warnings and run SCR diagnostics. If faults remain, we test NOx sensors, pump, injector, heater, lines and the tank unit.
Can the wrong fluid damage the system?
Yes. Contaminated or non-ISO fluid can crystallise and damage the injector, pump and catalyst. We only use sealed ISO 22241 AdBlue.
